The Guy Peddling Change I Can Believe In...

...can't quit smoking.

Now I'm just sad. Even if this does prove he won't go along with everything Michelle says, I was also depending on Obama to change, as promised, so many of my bad habits--like resisting my incorporation into the statist collective (H.O.P.E.), for example. I fear his failure to control his own habits might mean he will indeed  allow me to go back to my life as usual, leaving me leaderless, living my imperfect life as I see fit. And like the rest of my herd, this is what I fear more than anything else.

Noooo! Baaaa!

It could be that Obama is entirely consistent here.

If we need a new President to heal our souls and whatnot -- and the thing that distinguishes the President from all other persons is that he has the most powerful military in the world at his command -- then maybe Obama is just proving a point:

You can't really change your ingrained personal flaws without a bunch of guys with guns to scare you straight. That's change you can believe in.

An Obama presidency may be like one giant "intervention" for the whole country. :-)

There be method in this madness, methinks.
